The Kenneth Loveland Gift established in memory of the distinguished music critic and travel writer, invites applications for the 2017 award of £2,500. The Gift is intended as a supplementary award for young performing musicians who have a settled intention to pursue advanced study in their instrument or voice, whether in the U.K. or abroad. Non British students will be required to apply the award to studies in the U.K. The Gift is not intended to provide essential funding for such studies but to be additional help with tuition fees.
The award will be made on the basis of auditions to be held in London on Thursday, 29th June 2017. Audition programmes, which should not be submitted until requested, are required to include at least one item by a British composer.
Applicants must provide Curriculum Vitae including evidence of advanced potential in the form of an existing award for postgraduate performance study together with two references from musicians of international repute. It is the responsibility of applicants to ensure that references are sent by the closing date.
In addition candidates should supply an outline of study for the year of the award, plus details of any financial assistance you have already received for your continuing studies, a CD, which need not be professionally recorded, but must have a balanced sound, and MUST be playable on a CD player.
